Why Marketing Isn’t Your Real Problem

In 2019, I wrote that most business problems—poor sales, high turnover, a weak reputation—are really communication problems.

I was wrong.

It goes deeper than that. You can’t fix a communication issue if you don’t know what you stand for in the first place.

The Hidden Cost of Misalignment

Misalignment—between leadership and staff, internal culture and external messaging, what you say and what you do—shows up everywhere. It leads to messaging that doesn’t land. Siloed teams. A hiring process that brings in the wrong people. A brand that feels forgettable or inconsistent.

I’ve worked with companies in transition—mergers, acquisitions, rapid growth. Values misalignment is the fastest way to derail momentum in any of those scenarios.

Your Values Are Your Competitive Advantage

I’ve always wanted to enjoy my work. There were times I didn’t, and I’ve never forgotten those times. They remind me why alignment matters—especially when it comes to values. When your values match your work, your clients, and your team? Everything works better.
